Balancing Acts
A photographic and sculptural work by artist Lynne Roberts-Goodwin, engaging in meteorological and sensorial studies of atmospheric envelopment, focused on the Shoalhaven’s unique topography. Through observation, imaging, and sculptural interpretation of the aesthetics of atmospheres, the work speculates on the instability between figure/object and ground, and the ambiguous relationships linking material surface and visual illusion, to produce object-based works and aligned photographic imagery in an era of dramatic change

Death’s Witness
Death’s Witness is an exhibition of specially created animal shrouds. For sixteen years the artist has been commemorating the life of animal kin, the shroud process forming a unique mortuary ritual. The animal body is encountered at their death site, their remains gathered and placed on a canvas while decomposing, drawing a unique silhouette. After a month the transformed bodies are photographed and painted on canvas using bitumen, oil and collected earth pigments to create a series of unique artworks.

The Anything You Want Machine
Influenced by Japanese boro mending, Gees Bend quilt making, and Arte Povera, Kirsten Farrell’s work inscribes found plastic with the labour of craft and the language of abstract painting to destabilise comfortable assumptions about craft and art.
