Gather & Make: An afternoon of BUTTER KNIFE AND PLATTER FORK carving
Saturday 17 October · 12pm – 4pm · $200 per person · Ages 14+
Some of the best slow afternoons are the ones with your hands busy and your mind learning new things.
As part of Carving Community: City to Coast for Sydney Craft Week, local Shoalhaven Heads woodcarver, Rachel Shaw, will spend the afternoon teaching the simple and rewarding practice of carving with hand tools.
Rachel will guide you through the process from start to finish, including safe knife use, working with the grain and shaping and finishing your piece. At the end of the workshop you will have a beautiful butter knife or platter fork to take home with you.
No experience needed and everything you need is provided. Just time, good company, and something handmade to take home at the end of it.
It's slow living, in its most literal form.
