Local Experiences

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, Nowra serves as an exciting artistic hub for the Shoalhaven Region South Coast NSW. Each year welcomes a vibrant exhibition program featuring both contemporary and traditional works, a diverse range of touring exhibitions by leading Australian and Shoalhaven artists, Community based exhibitions and works from the Shoalhaven City Art Collection. Exhibitions change every six to eight weeks. Four gallery spaces; East, Access, Foyer and Main, make up the total exhibiting space of 259.2 square metres and 108.2 linear metres.

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery prides itself on fostering dynamic Public Programs. It presents art, cultural and community events aimed at audience development, accessibility and education, for the use and enjoyment of the entire community. Our Gallery Shop supports local artists and artisans with an eclectic array of unique gifts.  With four spaces available to hire for your business needs and special events we can cater for your event.  

The Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, is located in the heart of Nowra, NSW. Administered by Shoalhaven City Council, established on the site of a former TAFE building in 2003. Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, Nowra (formerly Shoalhaven City Arts Centre & Regional Gallery) was refurbished by the Shoalhaven City Council with funding support from NSW Ministry of the Arts and the Australian Government Regional Partnership Program and officially opened 28 February 2004 by Mayor of Shoalhaven, Councillor Greg Watson, accompanied by Senator Rod Kemp (Federal Minister for the Arts) and Councillor John Anderson (Chairperson of Shoalhaven Arts Board and Assistant Deputy Mayor).
