Enjoy the Beach

Step back from everyday life and take the time to reset and recharge. When we spend time in nature we restore our mental energy, improve concentration and develop sharper thinking and increase creativity.

Nothing soothes the soul like a dip in the ocean. Unlike many city beaches, at Seven Mile Beach we have plenty of space to share. Take a calming walk, go for a refreshing swim, catch some waves, collect seashells, build a sandcastle or stretch your legs and go for a run; uninterrupted for miles.

Get back to nature and enjoy the wide open spaces and amazing scenery of the South Coast. Drawing Room Rocks located a short drive from Bangaglay is a natural rock feature on the edge of the Illawarra escarpment, offering extensive views over Kangaroo Valley and Berry.

Booderee National Park (Jervis Bay) entry fees have been waived until 31 December 2020. Make the most of this opportunity to visit one of Australia’s most spectacular national parks; where crystal clear waters meet beautiful white sand beaches, and high cliffs and historic relics overlook the majestic Pacific Ocean.

Bangalay overlooks Shoalhaven Heads Golf Course; an 18 Hole all weather links style course by the sea. One of the fortunate things about golf, the very nature of it, given it’s natural spacing is the perfect opportunity to get out, get some fresh air and exercise.

Bike Riding

Bangalay has complimentary bikes on offer if you’d like to get outdoors and enjoy some physical activity. The Shoalhaven Heads Pump Track, located opposite Bangalay, offers family-friendly recreation of the wheeled variety. It’s a fun way to get outdoors, lure the kids away from their screens and enjoy some physical activity.

Horse Riding

Regal Horseriding School is based just on the outskirts of Shoalhaven Heads and is a great way to see Seven Mile Beach from a different perspective – on horseback! Monique is a lovely host and will take you from the Horseriding School, along the fringe of Seven Mile Beach National Park and onto the beach and back, all the while making you feel at ease and ensuring you have a great and safe time on your horsey adventure.

Visit the Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Gardens

Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Gardens is a great place to unwind. Maintained by volunteers from the local community, the gardens boast a collection of over 200 native plants and trees from all over Australia including Far North Queensland and Western Australia including many bush-tucker plants.

Shoalhaven Heads is birdwatching heaven, with an amazing biodiversity of birdlife in the immediate area. Migratory shorebirds visit every year and Australian birds of all description finding a home here for at least part of the year. The NSW Bionet Atlas lists sightings of over 240 bird species.
