Pets
As your holiday home is pet-friendly by application, you have agreed to follow our guidelines below in order for your stay to be more enjoyable.
Your dog(s)has had any long toenails clipped as these will scratch the wood floor.
Long haired breeds have been clipped.
Your dog is not a ‘barker’ that will bark for long periods, especially if left alone by day or night.
Your dog is toilet-trained and will only ‘go’ outside the building and you will pick up all mess before departure.
Your dog does not chew furniture. (loss of bond)
A maximum of 2 dogs is allowed.
Your dog is reasonably considered to be a small breed of dog and is not a medium or large breed at puppy age.
No pets are allowed in beds or on furniture and house linen must not be used on pets. Dog hair or dog stains found in beds or on linen or furniture will mean loss of entire bond as items may have to be replaced or at least be especially cleaned.
Guests must supply all doggy bedding and food/water bowls, and all other essentials such as lead and towels.
Wet dogs are not allowed inside at any time and failure in this regard may also lead to extra cleaning to remove any smell and therefore loss of entire bond.
Removal of sand is best done on the grass verge outside or after entering the property via the car port. (Take door remote control with you when beach walking.)
If your dog digs in the garden please repair any damage.
Don’t leave your pet alone all day.
Dogs must not be left inside when you go out.
Council regulations (currently) only allow off-leash 200m north of the surf club main beach entrance. Dogs must not be taken south of the surf club as this is a bird sanctuary. Parts of the Shoalhaven River adjacent the Shoalhaven Heads pub are also off leash areas. Please check as we take no responsibility for ranger fines. All dog waste must be picked up. Bags are normally available from a dispenser machine at the north end of the surf club car park.
The Shoalhaven Heads vet offers 24-hour emergency service and can be reached on 02 4448 562.
Alternatively, the Berry vet can also be reached on 02 4464 1899.
Cats and other pets are not allowed.
Age Requirements
Guests must be 18 years or older with photo identification to reserve a room.
Smoking
The House, all villas and public spaces are 100% non-smoking. A $500AUD cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy.
Gatherings and Noise
Please note this home is a family home and not a ‘party house’ and any such activities are strictly prohibited.
Any gathering, celebration or entertaining permitted at the property must not conflict with residential amenity and must comply with all other requirements.
Guests are responsible to ensure all visitors comply with these policies.
Fire Works
Fireworks of any kind are not permitted on the property. Fines apply.
Garbage + Recycling Bins
The garbage bin (red lid) and recycling bin (yellow lid) are located on the southern side of the property.
Bin collection occurs Wednesday morning. If you are staying with us at this time, we ask you to place the bins out on the Tuesday night for collection early the next morning.
Pool
Pool hours are 7am – 8pm
Beach House Instructions
Milk, tea and coffee are complementary
Lift Service
The lift is designed for persons with limited mobility and must not be used for carriage of goods alone.
It has beam sensors adjacent the front entrance that once obstructed (by a fallen item for example whilst no one is in the lift) it will stop the lift. Goods are then stuck between floors and will require a maintenance call at your expense.
The lift will only operate if the key is switched ‘on’.
If you touch the invisible light beam with your hand or foot the lift will stop suddenly. It will restart automatically once you pull back.
Maximum weight is 250kg or 3 persons.
Please only use the phone for emergencies.
Please note the alarm is very loud.
Fire Pit
The fire pit cannot be used in Spring or Summer due to local fire regulations.
Kindling, wood, paper and fire-lighters are provided. Do not use an accelerant.
Place kindling and a couple of larger logs (tee-pee style) above scrunched newspaper and a couple of fire-lighters.
The aim is to make coals upon which larger pieces can be placed so you end up having small flames emanating from glowing red coals. You will be impressed with how much radiant warmth is generated from a small mound of glowing coals. You do not want large flames as you will not be able to sit nearby because of the heat and smoke, plus of course it is dangerous.
Please note there is a native tree above the pit, so please keep the fire small and don’t make excessive smoke.
Do not leave the fire unattended and pay close attention to children.
It is best to let a glowing fire burn down when you decide it’s time to go indoors. If need be though, use the garden hose to gently damp it down.
Please conscious of neighbours with respect to smoke and noise.
