Shoalhaven Regional Gallery Craft Workshops

Visit the Gallery in Autumn for their School Holiday program.
Each activity includes interactive art activities designed to engage children’s imagination and play.
Most though not all activities include taking something home. The focus is on the experience as much as finishing an art-work.

Woebegong Free Dive

For the youngsters, try the Kids Freediving Workshops on the 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th of April. These sessions are designed to be both fun and educational, suitable for children aged 5 and above, and run from 10 am to 12 pm.

Bean to Bar Children’s Chocolate Workshop

Treat your kids to a fun, educational and hands on experience during the school holidays. Children will have the opportunity to learn about chocolate, taste different types of chocolate as well as get hands on creating their own unique chocolate treats to take home.

Aboriginal Cultural Walks with Matt Simms

Immerse yourself in the rich indigenous history of the South Coast with Aboriginal cultural walks led by the knowledgeable Matt Simms. Explore ancient sites, learn about traditional customs, and gain a deeper connection to the land.

Learn to Surf

Shoalhaven Zoo

Get up close and personal with a variety of fascinating animals at the Shoalhaven Zoo. Located in North Nowra, this award-winning zoo offers an educational and interactive experience for all ages. Explore the zoo’s diverse exhibits, including lions, kangaroos, monkeys, and reptiles. Kids will love the opportunity to hand-feed friendly farm animals.

Dolphin Watching

HARS Aviation Museum Albion Park

The HARS Aviation Museum is an all volunteer group of Aviation Professionals and Enthusiasts who have premises at Shellharbour Regional Airport (YSHL), Albion Park. Whilst many here are active and retired aircraft engineers and pilots, recent years have seen more and more people contributing their diverse skills.
When you visit, a tour guide will escort you and show you all that is there. At HARS, you will be walking through operational hangars, able to get up close and personal with the aeroplanes and even explore some of them.

Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventure and Zipline Tour

A unique eco-wilderness adventure! Take a walk through the treetops on the Treetop Walk, a 1.5km walk through beautiful warm temperate rainforest some 20-30m above the ground. Then there’s the thrills and challenges of two confronting swaying springboard cantilevers suspended 25m above the forest floor which take guests to the edge of the escarpment.
Officially the highest zipline in Australia, the Illawarra Fly Zipline Tour is a unique wilderness adventure that takes place in the magnificent Illawarra Rainforest.

Jervis Bay Maritime Museum

The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum features a world renowned collection of maritime artefacts and navigational and surveying instruments. The Museum exhibits a range of nautical equipment, models, photographs, paintings, drawings and objects relating to the history and heritage of the Jervis Bay area.
The Museum is also home to the historic c1911 Lady Denman Ferry, the only surviving wooden Sydney Harbour Ferry as well as other historic vessels.

Push your limits at the Nowra Trees Adventure

If you’re up for some fun and don’t mind swinging around the trees like a monkey, then a visit to the Nowra Trees Adventure is a must do! Located at the rear of the Shoalhaven Zoo, the trees adventure is an obstacle course set high up in the treetops and is designed to put you through your paces whilst taking in the beautiful cliff top and zoo views – who knows, you might even get the chance to high five a giraffe!

Explore our abundant National Parks or challenge yourself on a nearby walking track. Reward yourself with breathtaking panoramas stretching from the country through to the coast.

Indulge at the Berry Treat Factory

Browse hundreds of varieties of chocolates, confectionery and preserves that are handcrafted onsite. The Treat Factory is the largest gourmet food outlet on the South Coast. Simply browsing through the store is a treat in itself, with an amazing variety of sweet and savoury treasures to choose and savour. If you visit the factory during the week you might even see some of the production taking place, and smell the delicious aromas wafting through the store.
Once you’ve selected your treats, head over next door for a coffee and/or gelato or enjoy a bite to eat at their sister premises- The Dairy Bar, a gorgeous rural milk bar café.
