Gosang’s Tunnel

Gosang’s Tunnel

If you are looking for a bushwalk that will knock your socks off, this one is it! As part of the larger Abraham’s Bosom Walking Track in Currarong, Gosang’s Tunnel requires you to leave the main track (look for the signs) and crawl on your hands and knees through a tunnel for about 15 metres, where you will emerge out onto the edge of the Currarong sea cliffs. It is an incredible feeling standing on the rocky outcrop and looking down to the vast ocean below. Be warned, this area isn’t fenced so it is not recommended for young kids.

Minnamurra Rainforest Walk

Minnamurra Rainforest Walk

The Minnamurra Rainforest Walk is in Budderoo National Park (vehicle fees apply). There is a shorter walk, or you can take the extended walk up to the falls lookout. Both walks feature stunning rainforest vegetation, abundant birdlife and scenic little falls as you criss-cross the creek. There are spots to sit and have a rest or just enjoy the sounds of nature, and there is a café on site if you are feeling a little peckish after your big adventure. To find out more about visiting Minnamurra Rainforest during your stay at Bangalay, visit their website.

The Kiama Coastal Walk

The Kiama Coastal Walk

The Kiama Coastal Walk from Werri Lagoon to Kiama is a scenic coastal walk over the pasturelands, beaches and pathways of Gerringong to Kiama. Most people walk from Gerringong to Kiama and catch the train back as it is a lengthy walk (about 6km or 2 hours). Enjoy watching whales (in season) and the glorious blue ocean sparkle while getting in some exercise with friends.

Discover the Bomaderry Creek Walk

Discover the Bomaderry Creek Walk

A surprising walk considering its close proximity to the urban area of Bomaderry, Bomaderry Creek Walk is a significant area for the local Aboriginal people. Featuring lots of bush tucker, along with a vast array of vegetation types, the walk features the sandstone cliffs of Bomaderry Creek gorge, cool forest and stunning wildflowers in Spring.

A great walk to do in the morning before it gets too hot, you’ll be amazed at how you feel a million miles from civilisation, yet you’re only 5 minutes from Nowra – the largest hub of the Shoalhaven.

Drawing Room Rocks

Drawing Room Rocks

This is one of the most insta-worthy locations in the local area and is a favourite with adventure seekers wanting a picture sitting on the rock formations high above the ground. The walk is relatively short but steep and you need to be mindful of the cliff edges (don’t get too close to the edge!). Follow the signage from Woodhill Mountain Road and take care on the roads. Parking is also limited and please be mindful of the neighbours.
